Former First Lady Barbara Bush died yesterday at the age of 92. She had recently entered hospice care, as she had been struggling with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and congestive heart failure.
Back in 2011, George and Barbara Bush were on the Today show on Valentine's Day, and George cried while reading a love letter he sent Barbara in 1994. When he was done, Barbara put her hand on his knee and told him he could be Speaker of the House, a reference to John Boehner, who had just stepped down as Speaker of the House.
Barbara Bush was the second woman in American history to have both a husband and a son become President. Abigail Adams was the first.
