News broke yesterday that Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson would put the team up for sale at the conclusion of this NFL season. In recent days, Richardson has come under fire because of the numerous accusations of sexual harassment in the workplace. While he didn't specifically mention the accusations in his statement, it would appear that they are the catalyst for his sudden decision to sell.
Soon after his statement was released, rapper and music mogul Diddy went on social media, saying that he was interested in buying the team! He said that his first orders of business would be signing Colin Kaepernick, and increasing the quality of the halftime shows. Diddy said that Kaepernick would IMMEDIATELY begin competing for the starting quarterback position with Cam Newton. He then went on to post about how it's time for black ownership in the NFL, as there are currently no black majority owners of NFL teams.
The Panthers have an estimated value of about $2 billion, so hopefully Diddy has been saving his cash!
