New Species of Monkey Discovered (Photo)
Posted by Andy on September 14 2012

It seems like we live in an age that is past all discoveries and breakthroughs. We thought we have seen all the monkeys the world has to offer at this point. Turns out we were wrong. There was a discovery of a new species of monkey in the Congo. The lesula was discovered and counts as the second official discovery of a new monkey species in 28 years.

It's face is very memorable. It looks extremely human and some would even go as far as to say it resembles the face on the Sphinx. Hunters had apparently talked of this monkey's existence for years but until it's recent discovery, the science community hadn't recognized the species. Look into it's off-puttingly human eyes!
