Homecoming is one of those things for high-school students where, at the time, it's the end-all-be-all. Magical things are saved for Homecoming and of course everyone is anxiously awaiting who wins the popularity contest tradition of the crowning of the King and Queen.
Students go out and search for the perfect dress and it's all a pretty exciting rite of passage; however, for this Milwaukee school district, these students' dresses will be regulated.
Of course it would not be high school in 2017 without a somewhat sexist dress code and the Pewaukee School District is no different when they decided to make students submit pictures of their dresses to be approved before they can buy tickets. Of course, parents are not having it saying things like, "The girls are essentially being held responsible for the wayward thoughts (administrators) think boys have” and "“They’re being told, ‘You are the problem,' These are the roots of rape culture, frankly.”
Either way, we're just glad all the melodrama and annoyances of high school are far behind us!
